Marketing Tips
Blogs (web journals) are gaining in popularity as a way to help
market your company. Merriam-Webster has named Blog its #1 word of the year.

Recently Jupiter Research asked their analysts to start blogging. See
Jupiter's blog list.
In November I started a blog to comment and document our Yokefellow
Prison Ministry sessions at the Lycoming County Prison, partly to make sure
I understood the workings of blogs. I found it really simple to set up an
account (it's free) and get started. I also found it really enjoyable to
write about this subject online.
A surprise to me was how quickly the blog got indexed by search engines and
started sending our company web site traffic. In 3 weeks we were getting
more traffic referrals from the blog than from Google.

New Clients / Projects:
 The
redesigned, feature laden Susquehanna Valley Visitors Bureau web site has
gone live. This tourism focused web site features a powerful member
directory, events calendar and has post card sending power built in. See

Design Group's redesigned web site which includes a new multimedia piece
on the home page.
Carlos designed the Upper Susquehanna Valley Yokefellow
Prison Ministry Council web site and I finished up the construction. This
non profit web site includes a "Session Report" feature do volunteer session
leaders can enter their reports online easily. Visit

KNW News:
Welcome to Lycoming College senior Tim Eaton who is serving as an
intern for us this semester. Tim is working on building a non profit web
site for a local organization while here in the office.
E-commerce Tips:
If you sell products on your web site, you should probably also be selling
on Ebay. It's inexpensive to list items and an Ebay store starts out at
around $15 / month after a free month to try it out.
Carlos has been helping
German Roasted Nuts with their Ebay effort and he
reports increased sales after using Turbo Lister (a software program
provided by Ebay) to list an item / day.
Email Newsletter Tips:
I learned a valuable lesson with our newsletter last year. Don't make it so
complex that it isn't worth your time to update. Keep it simple, it'll make
the task of writing and publishing your newsletter more achievable.
Re: Building your email newsletter list. How about going through your
email inbox at the end of the week and inviting anyone appropriate who sent
you email who is not on your newsletter list?
